Begin at Prešeren Square, the social heart of Ljubljana. Admire the pink facade of the 17th-century Franciscan Church of the Annunciation and the bronze statue of national poet France Prešeren. Cross Jože Plečnik's Triple Bridge, a masterwork completed in 1932 that added two angled pedestrian spans to the original 1842 stone bridge.

Krakovo and Mirje offer leafy, quiet residential streets just a 7-minute walk south of the Triple Bridge. Hotels near the Central Railway Station (Trg Osvobodilne Fronte) provide immediate access to regional buses for day trips while sitting only 10 minutes from Prešeren Square.
